GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina University marked a milestone this week as its Psychology Clinic celebrated 15 years of service while opening the doors to a new, more accessible location. The clinic, which previously operated in a space that posed challenges for some visitors, has moved to a site designed to better serve the community.
The new facility features wider hallways, ground-level entry points, and improved parking options, making it easier for individuals with mobility issues or those using assistive devices to receive care. Clinic directors emphasized that the move was driven by a commitment to removing barriers to mental health services. "We wanted to ensure that everyone who needs our help can actually get through the door without obstacles," said a clinic representative.
Since its founding, the ECU Psychology Clinic has provided affordable, evidence-based therapy and assessment services to the Greenville area and surrounding counties. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale, and the clinic often serves as a training ground for graduate students in clinical psychology. The relocation coincides with the 15th anniversary of the clinic's establishment, a period during which it has served thousands of clients.
The new address is expected to increase visibility and convenience for walk-in clients and scheduled appointments alike. Staff members are now settling into the expanded space, which includes additional therapy rooms and a larger waiting area. The clinic continues to accept new patients and offers telehealth options for those who cannot travel.
